Shamanic Healing

What is Shamanism and Shamanic Healing?

The Shamanic worldview goes back over thousands of years and spreads over the whole globe.
We can find examples in ancient Siberian Kam ways still active today, just as in Maori
and Aboriginal cultures. In Polynesia represented by Huna, in north, central and South America by many indigenous forms as also in Africa. Ancient Celtic and Druidic ways being European examples.

The Shamanic WorldView recognises all of creation to be interrelated and interdependent and is therefore in essence most fundamentally compassionate and ecological. Shamanism knows of different levels of simultaneous existence along with the physically manifest, which are interconnected and interdependent.

The Shamanic Practitioner [ Shaman, Medicine man/woman, Witch doctor, Kahuna, Kam, etc..] works in any of those different dimensions to bring about the healing of the client. For this, many diverse techniques and rituals can be used like soul retrieval, extraction medicine, journey for solutions to a life problem, air & water / fire & earth ceremony etc. Spirit helpers contribute very importantly their active help. Shamanism with its timeless roots, has a vital role to play in the healing of contemporary society
and the ailing, beautiful world.

These are some of the traditional techniques
used for group or individual work with Shamanic Healing

Soul Retrieval

Soul retrieval is journeyed by the practitioner and is usually followed by
Soul release journeyed by the client and is completed by a subsequent Fire Ceremony.

The aim of soul retrieval journeying is for the Shaman to bring back one or more
previously lost soulparts and to re-integrate this life force with the client on all levels.
Subsequently a growth process is experienced.

The practitioner does not reveal to the client any "memories " which are not already there.
An analytical stance is avoided.
Soulparts or life force are lost through trauma, bereavement, shock, illness, etc. as a form of protection or survival mechanism.
The "wrongness" lies in the separation of the life force fragment from the individual.
The practitioner retrieves the soulpart most important at present.
The objective of the journey is to achieve the return of the soulpart and if applicable the release of the soulpart from keepers, guardians or guards if there are any.
This may have to be done by negotiating, bargaining, trading, if stuck even by trickery, deceit guile, or fight.
Spirit guides are called in for assistance. Teamwork is key in this operation.
Spirit guides and power animals are the helpers. When a soulpart is retrieved, it is blown into the client's heart and rattled in for grounding.

The Shaman's role is to effect the transition of the soulpart from spirit into the manifest.

Soul Release

The aim of soul release is the letting go of soul parts that have been taken from others
and to reinstate a win - win situation.

The journeying is by the client. Soul release brings about tangible changes in life. Feedback examples are clearing out home, healed relationships, recognition of relapse pattern.

How soul theft occurs.
This is something mostly done without awareness and through ignorance for example by judging somebody, acting on judgement loaded with emotion, by hero - worship, idolisation, denying of identity, by over caring for somebody, smothering, by jealousy, by envy of position, power, status, possessions, etc. Because it is done unconsciously it is very emotive and there is always a response. Time and circumstance may hinder recall of the taken soulparts. Stolen soulparts clutter and burden the taker. When memories come back one may feel bad about it; returning the soulpart brings a release and relief.

Exchange Ceremony

This is the ritual releasing of the taken soulparts in a fire ceremony.

Journeying for life questions

The aim of journeying for a life question is to find the appropriate answers to resolve
presenting problems or impasses in life circumstances. The client journeys under the practitioner's guidance.
The client can also journey to quest for philosophical answers etc.

Meeting your power animal

The aim is for the client to journey into spirit world in order to meet the power animal spirit
which is his personal guide, helper and teacher. There can be more than one power animal over time.

Extraction of energy intrusions

The aim is to remove negative energy intrusions from the client by scanning, extracting
and releasing for transmutation through fire or water.
Extraction is a kind of spiritual first aid or psychic surgery.

Huna principles and Huna practise

This offers an introduction specifically into the Polynesian shamanic philosophy and model of the Hunan 3 selves and their functions.
The teaching of the Huna way of "prayer" focuses on the reality the client wants to create and uses techniques to help achieve the set goals.
